Why no TATTOO for CR7December 12, 2014
It is a well known fact that many athletes get tattoos for their accomplishments. Football player Cristiano Ronaldo plays in a sport where tattoos are common. As a Real Madrid superstar, reigning FIFA Balloon D’Or honoree, and UEFA Champions League Winner, he seems to have so many accomplishments that he should be sporting a few tats of his own. What many fans don’t know is that Cristiano abnegates from getting any ink. The question is, why?
Little do many know, Ronaldo keeps his skin tattoo-free because of the frequent blood donations he gives for children with debilitating diseases. Getting inked would keep him from donating blood for six months up to a year.
He said to Diretta News, “I don’t have any tattoos because I donate blood very often” saying this while sharing a photo on his Facebook page showing him donating blood at a hospital.
Ronaldo also told Cadena Cope, Spanish radio station that he became a bone marrow donor after witnessing the struggle of a team mate. “It was the time when Carlos [Martins] was with us on the national team. He told us the problem with his son and we, the players, showed great unity to help him and his son cause we knew it was a complicated situation… [Donating bone marrow] is something a lot of people think is a difficult thing to do but its nothing more than drawing blood and doesn’t hurt.” “it doesn’t cost anything,” lastly he said, “its a simple process and then you feel happy because you know you’re helping another person.”
So this is the reason why Ronaldo won’t get any tattoos. He loves helping people by donating blood or even paying for a child’s operation. That’s what I call Good Guy Ronaldo.
